A Season’s Change

Today marks the first day of autumn. A time to begin to reflect on how the year has passed. With a brief time to slow down and enjoy our surroundings, we can take a deep breath from the busy schedule spring and summer brings to our lives.

The cooler mornings and Indian summer days makes us realize how time is so fleeting. With just a light breeze, life floats past us before we even realize it. Gently floating in the crisp air, these precious moments quickly disappear to become part of the tapestry that we call life.

Our journey offers many paths with one heading out a certain direction, but many side paths distract us and attempt to deter us from our destination. But sometimes there is one clear road that takes us to the unknown. Challenging ourselves to be willing to take risks, regardless of the outcome.

As leaves in an autumn tree, we are all pieces and part of the whole. Independent, but yet interdependent on the strength of one’s foundation.

Take this time to hit the pause button on “life” and reflect on where you’ve been, and where you are going. This is truly the best time of renewal as the past is slowing fading away and the future will be renewed in the spring.

  1. ah – would i could but hit the pause button on time – just for that moment to freeze an image – a feeling – a taste -a smell of whatever it is that i want to hold onto a few moments longer – my lover – that time does not give me pause to except in my imagination – that moment is gone the moment it exists – and my words written are a poor record of my love for my lover

  2. I remember this beautiful autumn and the precious and enjoyable time we had together. That’s is why our photographs are so valuable–because they are more everlasting than our memories.

  3. So wonderful… And such beautiful text to accompany these amazing images. JEALOUS. JEALOUS. No changing of colors here, obviously. (But not long before I get to visit it, hoorah!)

    • Are you heading north ? Let me know when, that would be awesome ! I’m coming to ride your mom’s horses. LOL. Funny how I always imagine reds in the autumns here, but truly it’s the yellows that are predominant.

      • SOON I’m heading north! SOOOOO excited!! I’ll be up in horse country (NJ) from the 4th on, for about a week-and-a-half. We have 2 thoroughbreds that errr….I’m not sure have been worked in awhile. Girls!!

I can’t wait. I’m SO glad her birthday’s this time of the year β€” all the fall festivals and general crisp FUN! πŸ™‚

  4. I stumbled across your blog (seriously technologically challenged, but I get lucky occasionally!). The images are gorgeous and the text makes me “pause” and breathe. I (of course) love the name Bella Remy. Thank you for the sweet interlude in a busy day!
