Perigee Moon, 2011
ΒI think we’re going to the moon because it’s in the nature of the
human being to face challenges.
It’s by the nature of his deep inner soul…
we’re required to do these things just as salmon swim upstream.
Neil Armstrong, 1930 – 2012

RIP, dear Neil Armstrong – we all will remember you… π
He was a true Hero. One of like that will never be seen again.
Thank you for recognizing him.
We should be all humbled by Neil Armstrong and his lifetime achievements.
I bet he was a happy man to see Curiosity on Mars.
I think he also managed to get back out in space this past year, so he certainly lived a full life. One couldn’t ask for more.
This is a beautiful post. I finally saw on the news where they were remembering him this morning. He accomplished so much that many don’t even realize. Thank you!
Sincerely,
judy
Sorry Petit ! Have no idea how I missed all your comments. At least I’m finally catching up. You’re right, Neil Armstrong was such an accomplished person and a true role model for us all.
I feel sorry for those not old enough to have heard these words the first time they were said.
So true Pat as I am one of those little ones that missed it.
Love the photo. Specifically the composition and use of perspective compression (?).
Hello Dan, I had to think a bit of your compression comment, then it just came to me..it’s the effect of the telephoto lens that I was using. This was taken on the Chesapeake Bay. Somehow I didn’t think of the Perigee moon this year, but I certainly won’t miss it next year. Thanks for stopping by.
I remember watching, fascinated as he stepped on the moon…there will never be another like him RIP
You are so fortunate to have been able to see this in person. They did break the mold when Neil Armstrong was born.
