The dog days of summer have arrived, and although it has been the hottest summer on record in Maryland, the cooling August nights made me realize that I’m just not ready for summer to be over.
But there is so much to look forward to in autumn. The warm dry days with clear blue skies, and the cool misty nights beckon each one of us to get outdoors. Reflections on the water on the Magothy, such peaceful and colorful moments with fabulous afternoon light. With ducks quietly floating by while fishermen hope to catch something on the end of their lines.
The magical colors of autumn, yellows, oranges, and reds brilliantly reflected upon the quiet waters as Mother Nature paints a painting worthy of Monet.
Perhaps it would be all right for the summer to begin to give way to Autumn so that I can once again sit along the water, waiting for another Mother Nature Monet.

So vibrant!! Makes me jealous for these colors in Nature…
You should come and visit me in the fall. I can hook you up with accommodations on the water.
HEAVEN!! I always visit my mother in October (first stop: BARN), but no one will hike with me except the dog. ♥
Then we would have a perfect time. 1st the barn, then the trails on the AT. Forget the dog….
Hahah!! P.S. One of our horse’s names = Bella, short for “Belle de Nuit,” as she was bought/rescued at night, from a killer’s auction.
What a sweet story, and I’m sure Bella is so grateful for being saved.
(And vice-versa!) ♥

Thank you so much for sharing this post with you readers.
Great shots.. I also did a reflection theme today… interesting we both thought the same thing… oh and please do not mention the end of summer is near… I hear the crickets each night and that is a sure sign…
I agree ! There was actually a slight nip in the air this morning. I’m just starting to really enjoy summer.
These are all beautiful! The 3rd one very much reminds me of Monet. You should get a giant print made to hang on the wall!
WOW ! Really Michael? I do think it’s pretty cool too. So humbled that you enjoyed these so much. It really was one of those moments that lasted just a few breaths.
Really wonderful images
Thank you so much AJ. I truly do appreciate you taking the time to stop by and comment. Hope all is going well with you.
Autumn is my favorite. You’ve captured it beautifully.
Living in humid FL makes me wish for it much earlier than many!
Ah, another Florida girl ! Yes, I feel your pain as well as your wishes for the enjoyment of fall colors. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to get out of the heat and enjoy the cool days of autumn in the north.
Beautiful…I love autumn (well before it gets ‘mucky’ and soggy)…you have captured these beautifully.
Thank you so much, I do enjoy these photos as well.
Love the colours, but do not want to think about Autumn just yet – I only started my holidays yesterday!
That is my thought exactly! I’m not ready for summer to end either.
Wow… awesome colours Bella! Second one is my favorite. 😀
You are too kind Ian. Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. Bella
You wrote “the magical colors of autumn” really agree, autumn have so many lovely colors… 😉
All four are on their own way amazing – winter, spring, summer and autumn – won’t miss any of them… 😉
I must agree, each season has its own beauty. Funny though, in my area our autumn has mostly yellows. When you go out west you get more reds.
The most beautiful is the color transitions – there are so many shades of green, so many shades of red, so many shades of brown and so many shades of yellow – but you’re right, there is great variation from region to region in which colors that dominate… 😉
Beautiful Photos:)
Thank you SO much Renee ! Hope all is going well with you.
BRILLIANT!
🙂
Beautiful images; love the third one in particular.
Thank you so much Rona. So happy you were able to enjoy them.
Fall is hands down my favorite season…why does it seem to go by so fast?!! Like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean..’why is the rum always gone..?’ I tried to paint a room in my house the color of a fall maple leaf….I need to keep trying 😉
LOL! This is so well said and so very true. I’d imagine that would be a glorious color on your walls.
