It is an Honor!

It’s hard to imagine that my post on the Lobstermen of Mount Desert Island was considered worthy enough to be Fresh-Pressed yesterday. Indeed, it my honor to present the lives  of these lobstermen and women who work hard on the waterways throughout Maine’s coast.

Many were kind enough to leave comments, or show their appreciation by liking the post, leading to increased awareness throughout the world of these fishermen. Of those who commented, there are two in particular that I would like to highlight today. They have left an impression on me in regard to where their lives are today, and what they do.

The first is Robin Blue who is the wife of a commercial fisherman on the coast of Washington. You can hear more of her life and the world of commercial fishermen on her blog:

The Fishing Blues: Tales of a Fishing Family

Please stop by her blog and enjoy her posts of her fishing family. As a seafood lover, I appreciate the hard work, and hardships her family endures to bring these delectables to our table to enjoy.

The second blog I’d like to highlight is from Sarah who is a 22-year old marine biologist student in New Hampshire. On her blog, she interviews lobsterman and fisherman and brings to life with photos and in-depth interviews their lives on the boat. Read more here:

Fishues: New Hampshire Seacoast Issues

Since I’ve been so fortunate to have my blog fresh-pressed, I would like to start recognizing other blogs that I consider worthy of a good look. There are many followers of Hoofbeats & Footprints, and each week I will select one to share with readers.

In the meantime, please enjoy these blogs, and I hope you like them as much as I do.
