“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast,
knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do.
Every day it’s a different version of itself.
Sometimes weak and wan,
sometimes strong and full of light.
The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”

Yes!!! Amazing!
That is so wonderful ! Where in the world did you see it?
St Paul, Minnesota!
Brrr…makes me cold just thinking about it, but what wonderful birds ! May be worth some suffering. 🙂
Nice capture of Mr. Luna.
It was truly spectacular last night. I’m glad I bothered to get out in the cold winter night to take this last night. Tonight is cold, windy and rainy.
Great catch. We were also taken with the moon sunday nt…
It really has been fantastic this week Janet.
Wonderful shot of the moon, Emily
Thank you so much Corinne ! It truly is a marvel to see, and I love the quote I found to go with it. So appropriate and so true.
Wonderful capture of the moon. Last night’s moon was the biggest I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, I was in the car when it was rising. I tried to stop to take some photos, but didn’t have much luck before it went behind some clouds. But it was huge.
I bet you were so excited to see the moon as it was. Large as life ! But you will always have the memories with you wherever you go. 🙂
Well done Emily!! It’s difficult to take really good photos of the moon, this is triple A! 🙂
Thank you so very much Calee ! I just added the metadata for the image as one of my readers told me he likes to see it. Got to that a 500mm L and a Gitzo tripod for this one. Also, the detail extractor in Nik Efex Color (which I just got) really made the details pop.
I saw it Sunday, but not last night. We had clouds and rain yesterday.
Well, I have your rain tonight. Hopefully it is clear where you are. So happy you saw it on Sunday.
The moon was AMAZEBalls last night, especially with the mountains around it!!! It is the Simple things in life, right. Happy Tuesday:)
Now that’s a word I’ve never heard before Renee. OH I hope you got a photo..no mountains here, just trees.
“Sometimes weak and wan – sometimes strong and full of light”
a good one… 🙂
This has to be one of the best quotes I’ve ever heard. It so defines what being human is about. Thanks Drake.
We too had clouds, so I was not able to catch the smiling face of the man in the moon.
Aw, I’m so sad for you then. Thankfully I am able to share mine with you. 🙂
I just LOVE the moon! ^_^ I even wrote a. . . thing about it (I can’t call it a poem cause it doesn’t really rhyme). . . You were actually the only one who liked the post back then! =P

This is it, in case anyone else is interested in reading it! =D
Great to see you Venom! How you been doing? I would double like this post if I could..it’s such a great poem.
OMG, you have such good camera to see the many shades of the moon. Just Beautiful. By the light of the silvery moon, I want to croon…. la la la
I love that quote Seeker ! Thanks for the compliment on the lens/camera setup. It really is pretty awesome.
Wow…it is so easy to be amazed by the moon. Thank you for sharing.
Isn’t that the truth Charlie. This one does take one’s breath away.
Spectacular! “The Cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be.” Carl Sagan, Cosmos
I love this quote Rebecca ! Thank you for sharing.
Great work Emily… All I saw were clouds! 😦 Oh… and when can I ‘borrow’ your 500mm? 😀
Anytime you can get yourself to Annapolis Ian..it’ll be waiting for you. 🙂
Deal! you are too kind… I will confirm some flights and let you know when I am picking it up. 😉
Sounds like a plan than Ian..I’ll send the limo to pick you up.
REALLY a gorgeous shot! It was low on the horizon, and just perfect last night…. But I was in my car. 🙂
Silly..stop and get out next time!
Love the moon Emily! The quote is perfect 🙂
Thank you Judy. I had never heard that quote before and I think it’s one of my favorites of all time.
