Ice Man
Feeling a little under the weather today, I decided to stay indoors from the bitter cold. Usually I drain our water fountain each winter so it won’t freeze. However the wildlife have been enjoying having an easy water source that I didn’t want to take it away from them
After freezing temperatures last night, I switched to my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens to capture some ice shots. When looking around, I saw this Ice Man and just had to capture it.
Canon 7d, Canon 100mm L Macro, Aperture Priority, 1/250 sec, f/8.0, ISO 400. Daylight whitebalance and minor adjustments in Lightroom.

Nice capture. We use the same lens – it’s a corker, isn’t it. I hope your fountain won’t break. I switched mine off but would love to have ice like this to enjoy…
It really is ! But I love it and my biceps are nice and strong after three days of handholding that puppy. 🙂 So far, so good, no breakage but I am pushing my luck with the ice.
