Equitrekking.com ~ My First Byline!

There is some method to my madness when I began my blog “Hoof Beats and Foot Prints.” I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to wonderful places and have some unique adventures.

I had an Aunt that whenever I would visit, I would share her photos and stories of my journeys. She would repeatedly tell me to “Write it down” with each and every story that I shared with her. With that encouragement, I thought that perhaps I could become a travel writer and photographer and possibly even receive compensation for my stories.

But with all things, one has to start writing and writing often to become proficient at it. I started my blog to begin the writing process, and when I look at those initial posts, I see how my writing has progressed in a short period of time. I am also now a member of the International Travel Writers & Photographers Association which sends out daily emails with tips and coaching on how to break into the writing world.

With their tutorials, and handbooks I decided it was time to take the chance and put my foot in the water to see if anyone would be interested in my stories. I submitted an article proposal to Equitrekking.com, which is a website that not only supplements the PBS travel series, “Equitrekking” but now offers travel services for those interested in Equitrekking adventures.

They have been kind enough to accept my article proposals, and have now published on their website the first two articles that I’ve written on my equitrekking adventure through the Luberon Mountains in Provence, France.

So please..click through and visit my first by-line ! It’s a wonderful adventure and shouldn’t be missed.  Join me on my Provence Equitrekking Adventure Here

  1. Hi Emily

Felicitations. C’est le commencement d’un nouvel aventure pour toi. J’adore le sud de la France. Et tu as des photos magnifiques.
A great achievement, Emily. Making a living doing something you love is one of the most wonderful things in the world. Follow your heart and be true to your talent.

  2. I just read the article and had to come back and say great job! I enjoyed the writing and the photos. The last time I went horseback riding was in northeast Georgia on mountain trails a long time ago(1980’s). I know France had to be an amazing experience!

    • Georgia the country or Georgia the state? I bet it was beautiful ! France is amazing and this was my second ride in that area. Fabulous horses, incredible food, and great cheap wine with no sulfates. Drink it like Kool aid.

      • Well I would like to visit the country, but this was the state. As a matter of fact it was in Dillard where my recent church picture was taken. They have lodging, a restaurant, and horse riding. We got to ride in the mountains through streams and fields. It was a lot of fun. I would love to go there now and do it again. I think I would appreciate it a whole lot more now that I am an adult!
Haha – kool aid! Sounds great!
