All about Hoofbeats & Footprints

Consider the possibilities that each individual has on the pathway in front of them. Regardless of the misfortunes one may be born into, in the land of opportunity one is free to create their own path for personal success. Success doesn’t always mean monetary success, but rather success as a positive and contributing human being to their family and community.

This is so simply said, but yet so powerful. Thank you Condoleeza Rice for this accepting and nonjudgmental perspective on life.

In wanting to learn how to add text to a photograph, I opened up Photoshop Elements 10. Having never worked with this software before, I quickly decided that I definitely needed a course to understand how to use this handy dandy tool. Even with my best efforts in adding a layer, the text still wasn’t the way I wanted it to be.

Remembering my recently downloaded free Picasa 3.9 from Google, I figured that the more simplistic software is better suited for me. It didn’t take me long to figure out how to add a text box and I enjoyed playing with the different ways you can alter the image. I then saw an option to go to their “Creative Kit” for special editing. Additional image alterations are available, and I selected the 1960’s option and returned the photo back to Picasa for final proofing.

Let me know what you think! Bella

  1. A nice statement for sure, the sad part is the party she represents has never been more divisive and they have manufactured such hardship for so many people all because of their hatred for one man and his quest for change! As an outsider looking in, I would hope Americans take a hard look at the policies this party wishes to move forward on and realize that continuing and extending the ways of the Bush years will only continue to cripple the very freedom for all they claim to hold so close to their hearts. Some of the best years America had for all, was during the Clinton years, especially for the middle class. All of which was undone and sacrificed by the very President she stood for.

  2. Thought-provoking quote, thank you. Thank you, too, for the great advice about editing. I will try the programme you mention. I’m very much a beginner and my photographs are usually edited on the automatic setting. I’d love to do some real editing. I’ve also had some good advice from Leanne Cole. She writes tutorial articles articles on her site leannecolephotography.com. Blessings xx
